What equipment is needed to participate?
A computer, internet, and a headset. A laptop or desktop with a mouse would likely work best for projects. However, kids can connect to the virtual classroom with a tablet and headset.
Will kids get feedback on their work from the teacher?
Yes! During virtual classroom sessions, the students will receive guidance on their projects and have the chance to share their ideas and questions with the teacher and group. Throughout the week, the kids will collaborate with their peers and post reflections online. The teacher will view and respond to online posts as well.
Are the teachers certified?
Yes, teachers are certified in the state in which the program is being held.
What if my child misses a class session?
Missing the occasional class session should not have a negative impact on the student experience. But, make up sessions will not be held.
Are the projects relevant to what the kids will be doing next year in school?
The projects are based on the Common Core Curriculum being implemented in the public school systems. The content will give kids exposure to next year’s curriculum, while maintaining what they’ve learned the previous year.
What if we have to cancel after we've registered?
You can receive a full refund, if you cancel 8 weeks in advance. You will receive a 50% refund if you cancel between 2 to 8 weeks. There are no refunds if the session is cancelled within two weeks of the session starting. In some cases, we may be able to allow your child to take a different session than the one registered for.
